“Open loop” systems, including tankless water heater applications that use potable hot water as the hydronic fluid, may cause premature failure of the water heater and associated system components. In addition, open loop systems cannot be chemically treated, which may introduce several potential health and water quality concerns associated with this type of installation.

Although Vulcano is fully approved for open loop heating applications, this type of installation is not recommended. As with many manufacturers, open loop applications may alter or limit warranty coverage.
